Kia ora! Talofa lava! Bonjour! My name is Cora!

I’m a PES year 5 student who has been part of Pt England School for the last year. I’ve been to two other schools before coming to Pt England, so I know how it feels to be a visitor or new to our school.

I would love to be a Year 6 Ambassador for Pt England School in 2020. “What is that you say … Why do I want to apply for year 6 ambassadors?”

Well let me tell you more...

To be an ambassador we need to show the Pt England way of learning - “Learn, Create, Share”

Isn't that interesting first let's talk about learning. Learning helps you with their reputation and it's good for you to learn new things . Now create As you know there is a creative space and maker space.

We can be creative by creating many different things in both of these creative rooms . Now it's time for share we can share many things even our learning on our blogs . And remember we always have to make sure that we share our work with our teacher.

Cave girl was half Neanderthal

Once upon a time, two early humans of different ancestry met at a cave in Russia.

Some 50,000 years later, scientists have confirmed that they had a daughter together.

DNA extracted from bone fragments found in the cave show the girl was the offspring of a Neanderthal mother and a Denisovan father.

Neanderthals and Denisovans were humans like us, but belonged to different species.

This cave, called Denisova cave, in the Altai Mountains of Siberia is the only known site where fossil evidence of both Denisovans and Neanderthals has been found.

When and where did Neanderthals and Denisovans live?
Neanderthals and Denisovans are known to have overlapped in time in Eurasia.

The two groups lived until about 40,000 years ago; Neanderthals in the west and Denisovans in the east.

What is a Neanderthal?
Neanderthals are an extinct species or subspecies of humans, who lived in Eurasia until 40,000 years ago. Compared to modern humans, Neanderthals were stockier, with shorter legs and bigger bodies. They had a receding forehead and prominent brow ridges.

What is a Denisovan?
An extinct species of human of robust build. They lived mainly in modern day Asia, from Siberia to South East Asia

Britain’s first ‘city’ has been found by archaeologists.

The city was based on Salisbury Plain, and its inhabitants probably built Stonehenge, archaeologists have said.

Archaeologists are people that study past civilisations. They have uncovered more than 70,000 stone tools at a place called Blick Mead.

The remains suggest that the area held importance for the hunter-gatherers who lived there 10,000 years ago.

Expert David Jacques, from the University of Buckingham, believes the site may have been a permanent place where at least the children, elderly and sick live.

Up until 2006 only 30 finds had ever been recovered from this period at any one site. Now they have found 70,000 – this is a significant find.

Archaeologists think that ancient Britons settled in the area because it was where the aurochs lived. These were large cows which provided food for the city.

LIFE IN HAWAII

       

On a beautiful tropical day in hawaii. I felt like it was time to have a swim ,
in the most beautiful rock pool ever . This rock pool was right near the place that
i was staying in .

All I needed to do was go down the bamboo ladder . The tropical pool was so
warm and beautiful ‘ This is the life a beautiful tropical day in hawaii Isn't it great’
. Then I was inspired by the Magnificent flower blooming in the sunlight . 

IMMERSION ASSEMBLY

 What is your favourite part about the immerion assembly ?

Writing :  This morning on monday the 14th of  October the whole of pt england school had an
immersion assembly introduce inquiry for this term .

First Mr burt give us a warm greeting then he introduced us to this terms inquiry.
Then  Mr burt , Mr Jacobson and Mr Somerville put on a nice show that was based on the song
is a kind is a true is it necessary  . After the show ended Mrs tela told us all about NIUEAN
language week .

 When mrs tela finished talking It was time for each team to show their little show or a video .
The first team that went up with team 1 theres was about a funny Cinderella Story I thought the
best part was when Miss chity was dancing. Soon after the Cinderella video it was time for team
2’s show. 

 In the show there were memes  and Superheroes strangely dancing to music now that was
pretty funny . Only about 6 minutes until their show was finished after that it was team 3’s
turn . Then term 4’s there’s based on the toy shop .

 Finally it was term 5’s turn there’s was based on different sorts of songs that came from
all around the world Isn't that interesting . Then ended with Mr Burt telling us to have a
happy term and a happy day .  THE END

One chili cold day, me and my friend Mele was exploring in the forest . This forest  was located in north pole. But before that we had been staying in can. But while we were exploring I had fold a visible ramp and that had stopped randomly.  Me and Mele decided  to take a look at this Strange place. So we went up the ramp then strangely and randomly  I had felt a wall. Then moved my hands and had felt a doorknob i gentili twist the doorknob  and the door open up. In the  house I heard a big nose that had sounded like ‘  Bang , Boom , crash. Me and Mele Were scared. We went to go upstairs to check what it was. But then there was no one upstairs so we went outside. It was a man cutting wood and building houses but  strangely in the forest. BUT this man looks creepy so I went back inside and stayed there for the rest of the week.

Hi my name is Cora and this is my animation about something in the water . In my animation I am learning all about starfish And how starfish lives . This is splash zone high zone mid zone and low zone . Starfish lives in low zone And sometimes Stays under rocks .

Starfish Pray Is a seagull they dive in the water very fast to collect there food .But while the starfish prey is looking for other starfish . This particular starfish needs to eat for energy to become bigger. Many starfish likes To eat a particular sea creature called mollusks .

Mollusks lives in the Marine environment mollusks also lives in Deep ocean parts . Mollusks gives energy to starfish . The end thanks for watching my animation that is all about something in the water .

On a sunny day me and my friend Grace went  exploring .
We found a secret passageway that leads us to an abandoned train track
. This  strange place looked like it was forbidden to go to .
Me and grace Decided to look around this strange train track  .
This strange tunnel looked like it was everlasting and Non-stop .
Suddenly we heard a loud BANG BOOM CRASH Coming from the
lift Side of the Tunnel . I went to go and check out the noise then Rocks
appeared and lots of things they started rolling after me and Grace .
Then we found out the real reason why the forbidden tunnel is forbidden
. BUT WHY WELL because the tunnel is very dangerous for many
people to go to . So Me and Grace ran back to the entrance and put a big
sign saying  …. Forbidden Tunnel do not pass this tunnel is dangerous .

Capital E Education and entertainment

Today we watched a show from capital  E Which stands for education and entertainment .
My favourite part about the What about the  capital E show What is the cool rap or song called eat your
face . The reason why I liked it was because I liked the rap and the  dance moves. It was super funny
and So amazing . The names of the people who had came was Sepe , Nina and Hannah . 

Bread experiment

Last week on Tuesday Rock star was  given a task that needed experimenting . 
First we put our name on a zip bag.Second we grab a bread and put it into the small bag.
Third Mrs Sio put down on the Label where we were going to put it me and kamryn put ours in the freezer
.Fourth we waited for 1 week and then take the bread out.
But there was a problem me and kamryn's bread didn't go mould .
It is still nice and clear with no mould parts but the bread was still cold .
Then  we had to write a recount all about the moulded or not mould bread.
It was super hard waiting for the bread to mould and then it became boring and boringer .
And then finally today it was not Mould so we will have to wait bit longer but that's OK I'm able to wait .
And that's my recount of the Bread experiment It was so fun the end !!!!!!!!! 

Recount about my holidays

In the holidays I went to the movies with my two sisters raven who is 20 years old and Jackie winch is 10 years and also my little brother D'Angelo. The movie we watched was Spider-Man far from home the movie was sad, weird,Tragic and super long .The movies that I went to was called events in Manukau . And I also went shopping at the  mall my Holiday was so fun !!!!!

FUNNIEST MOMENT

The funniest moment was when my baby brother was in the kitchen at night.  when I went to go for a drink at night i went in the kitchen and saw my baby brother Harley .  He was eating all the food in the planter and he is 3 years old . The food that he loves the most is soil souse . I ran to my sister and told her what happened we both started laughing . In the morning I told my mum and everyone in the living  room was laughing .
